Growing up in Cape Coral, Florida, I saw a different lifestyle than what I experience today. The ocean, palm trees and flat land as far as the eye could see. We would spend weekends at the beach all four seasons of the year. I even remember spending one Christmas Eve at the beach making sandcastles trying to pass the time until Santa arrived.
In the early 80’s my parents decided to plan for retirement, lake retirement. At this time Lake Lanier, just north of Atlanta, was becoming too crowded and we stumbled upon a very quiet lake in Upstate SC, Hartwell Lake. We purchased a home on Hartwell Lake near Anderson, SC. It was there that we created many fond memories. Boating, skiing, fishing and swimming immediately became our favorite family pastimes.
It wasn’t until college that I was introduced to Lake Keowee. While attending Clemson University I was invited to go with some friends to the lake for the day. I was absolutely amazed! Growing up on the neighboringHartwell Lake, I couldn’t believe there was another lake nearby. There it was, Lake Keowee. Crystal blue green waters, white sandy beaches and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance…I knew this was lake living as it was meant to be.
Now with a family of my own, two beautiful children, Braden and Ashtyn, and a loving husband, Troy, I enjoy the lake and those views even more. With a true appreciation for people and firsthand knowledge of the beauty and lifestyle Lake Keowee has to offer, the career choice as a full time real estate professional was obvious.
Upstate South Carolina has so much to offer. With four distinct yet mild seasons, you can enjoy outdoor activities all year round. You have three large lakes where you can go boating, fishing, or just relax and sunbathe on the dock. If you enjoy hiking or bicycling, you would love a visit to one of our many local state parks. There is an abundance of hiking trails and waterfalls to explore. Several of our area communities even have walking and leisure trails.
To spice things up, throw on your orange and check into the Clemson University Tigers schedule. Tailgating is a favorite- no matter what kind. You will find that you can do the “Tiger Rag” during football, baseball, basketball or even soccer season. We don’t discriminate. There is something for every college sports enthusiast. Clemson University provides a very transient, friendly atmosphere. Both Clemson and Seneca have a friendly neighbor small town feel while providing several arts, entertainment and theatre events.
I understand the stress moving can bring. For years I have been working with people from all over the country introducing them to Upstate South Carolina in addition to working with those who already reside here. My goal is to always exceed my client’s expectations. So, whether it is nervous enthusiasm you experience while purchasing or an unsettling anxiousness while selling…know that I have been there, both personally and professionally, and will be there for you. Engaging a professional Realtor who genuinely cares about you and your goals during one of the most important decisions of your life is the best advice I can give.
